Character Analysis: Iago An antagonist, who opposes and contends against the other characters, is an important element in every tragic act upon. This idea is accreditedly well pictured in William Shakespeares infamous play Othello. Antagonism is the main stress of the play since Iago, Othellos ancient, betrays his those who are closest to him.
